As some of you may know, I share my office with the talented ladies from EMKHO (EMma-Kelly-HOlly). These guys are the most amazing stylists in Adelaide and I have to say I was pretty freaking excited when Emma asked me to photograph her wedding to her lovely man Sam.
We are so blessed to also have the amazing Sally and her talented Poppie-ette’s from “Poppies Flowers” as our next door neighbours. So it was my pure an absolute pleasure to photograph the one wedding (so far, and hoping there will be plenty more) that we were involved with all together (admittedly I may have also been a little nervous to make sure I did it all justice!.)
The girls pulled this off in crazy fashion in the middle of a mental wedding season and with not as much notice as you would expect from someone in the wedding industry. But far out, they blew it out of the park. Of course these girls wanted to show what they can do, but they also knew that the centre of this epic-ness had to be EMMA and SAM. Emma being a graphic designer knew what she wanted and she (literally) made it happen. It was stunning and the location of Mt Hoban Estate made the whole thing shine (again quite literally at sunset time!).
The details at the wedding were crazy and by details, I mean soooo many. Each guest had their own personalised name ‘circle’ with a cute little message designed just for them. Not only that, but each guest also had their own personalised booklet! crazy talk right? The cakes were insane, the signage amazing and then there was the ‘Bridal suite’ put together by Fig and Hunter (which is run by Courtney, who also works as a stylist for EMKHO). Not to mention the breathtaking florals from Poppies (I’m also an absolute lover of flowers so these get lots of exposure in this post!) and Emma’s amazing Carla Zampatti gown. The whole thing was just perfect and when Emma saw for the setup the first time, there were tears.
Each wedding has it’s own story, and for these guys it was just fun and laughter, and that’s the story I wanted to tell through these images and this post. Emma is a crack up and she did not wipe that smile of her face the entire day. The bridal party were such a cool gang and the inclusion of Em’s brother as her “Bro-maid” was all kinds of nice. The banter between Sam and his boys was hilarious and the whole gang together just has that awesome vibe, that really life long friends just have. I’d also had the pleasure of photographing one of Sam’s groomsmen’s weddings, and another of the guests weddings, so there were lots of familiar faces in the crowd which was really cool for me.
It was a just an awesome (EPIC) party that Sam and Em wanted their friends to be a part of. The details, location and everything else, were just the icing on a pretty awesome cake. xx
Grab a vino, it’s a long one (and by long I mean looooooooong). Enjoy. xxxxx
