One of the things I clearly remember about Selga and Sam’s wedding was the week before. They came to see me on the Wednesday to discuss a few last minute things. These guys had just bought a new house, moved in and clearing out the old house to rent, the weather was terrible. I don’t just mean bad, there was torrential rain, for what was actually supposed to be an outdoors wedding. The stress levels were high (like REALLY high) and it was obvious. I felt so bad for them and I wanted them to be able to have a little holiday before their wedding to relax, but it was work right up to the Friday before. I have to say I was a little stressed myself, not knowing how these guys would fair on Saturday.
First of all the rain had stopped. The clouds were out and grey and fabulous, but the rain had gone. The ceremony had been moved into the barn (just in case) with the help of the amazing staff at Kingsford Homestead and a marquee had gone up. But it wasn’t these things I really noticed. I saw Selga and Sam and they were both just beaming. That one night away beforehand, staying at Kingsford, relaxed them so much and seeing that they had solutions to all their problems, they were relieved. I could tell though that they had kind of let it go and basically adopted the,’ whatever will be will be’, way of thinking, which let me tell you my friends , is the best bloody attitude you can have on your wedding day.
So the day went ahead with great happiness, joy, love and laughter and one of the most amazing dresses I’ve seen. It was one of a kind, just like the lady who wore it. Thank you so much Selga and Sam for having me capture your most amazing day. It’s one I will remember for years to come and I so enjoyed being a part of it.
P.S. Get comfy and put your feet up. This is going to be pretty epic.
